Zubereitung

  1. With your right hand, shape a golf ball-sized ball of rice into an elongated cushion resembling a wine cork, applying slight pressure.
  2. Place the sliced fish on the fingertips of the palm of your left hand.
  3. Coat the fish with a little wasabi using your right index finger.
  4. Place the rice cushion on the fish with your right hand and hold it in place.
  5. Turn the Nigiri with your right hand so that the fish is facing upwards.
  6. Use your right index and middle fingers to shape the Nigiri.
  7. Turn the Nigiri on its own axis and shape it again.
  8. Hold it in place with both hands and then put it down.

 

UNser TIPP

Nigiri with fish can also be flamed and seasoned with a Bunsen burner. This variant is called Aburi Nigiri.
